As of 2025, Midjourney consistently produces the highest-quality images of any AI image generator — particularly for photorealistic and artistic content.

Midjourney operates through Discord (their original interface) and at midjourney.com. The Discord interface gives you more control; the web interface is easier for beginners.

Pricing starts at $10/month for 200 images. Most creators use the $30/month plan for unlimited (slow mode) generation.

Midjourney responds to descriptive language. The more specific your prompt, the more control you have over the output.

The formula: **[subject] + [style/medium] + [lighting] + [mood] + [technical specs]**

Vague prompt: "a product photo"

Strong prompt: "minimalist product photography of a glass perfume bottle, white marble surface, soft studio lighting, clean white background, sharp focus, luxury aesthetic, commercial photography"

Midjourney supports parameters you add to the end of your prompt:

--ar 16:9 — sets aspect ratio (16:9 for widescreen, 9:16 for vertical/mobile, 1:1 for square)

--style raw — less stylized, closer to photorealism

--v 6.1 — current best model version

--q 2 — higher quality (slower)
